The Journal of Unani and Integrative Medicine (JUIM) is a peer-reviewed, open-access publication dedicated to the advancement of Unani (Graeco-Arabic) medicine and its synergy with modern healthcare systems.

The journal welcomes original research, review articles, case studies, and short communications in the following areas:

  • Fundamentals of Unani Medicine: Exploration of the concepts of Arkan (elements), Mizaj (temperament), and Akhlat (humors) in the context of contemporary physiology.
  • Regimental Therapy (Ilaj-bil-Tadbeer): Clinical studies on Hijama (cupping), Venesection, Leeching, Massage, and Turkish baths.
  • Pharmacognosy & Materia Medica: Standardized research on medicinal plants, minerals, and animal-origin drugs used in Unani formulations.
  • Integrative Healthcare: Studies documenting the combined efficacy of Unani treatments with conventional medicine for chronic diseases (e.g., diabetes, hypertension, and musculoskeletal disorders).
  • Dieto-therapy (Ilaj-bil-Ghiza): The role of nutrition and "Six Essential Pre-requisites" (Asbab-e-Sitta-Zarooriya) in preventive and curative medicine.
