Abstract:
Background: Osteoarthritis affects all ages and has multifactorial etiologies, which occurs due to interaction between systemic and local factors. Several responsible genes are associated with the occurrence of this disease. Previous knee trauma increases the risk of knee OA 3.86 times. Old age, female gender, overweight and obesity, knee injury, repetitive use of joints, bone density, muscle weakness, and joint laxity all play roles in the development of Joint OA. OA can be classified into two major etiologic classes: primary (idiopathic) or secondary.
Objective: To prove that wet cupping is effective and purely modern mechanism to treat the Knee osteo arthritis (Waja ur Rukba).
Materials and Methods: The clinical study was done at RRIUM, Srinagar. The total sample size was 60, divided into two groups- group A and Group B. Group A was treated by Wet cupping and group B was given Tab Aceclofenac.
Results: wet cupping was effective in relieving the symptoms of (Waja ur Rukba) knee osteoarthritis.
